Gillian Rowe
Principal
Gillian is the principal of McPhersons. She has practised in the City of London, Lincolns Inn Fields and Winchester before taking over McPhersons in 2003.
Gillian deals with residential and commercial conveyancing, including leases and tenancies, and is well known as a specialist in rural property, farms and estates. She is happy working with longstanding farmers and with newcomers to country living. She deals with farm business tenancies, entitlements and utilities easements.
Gillian has excellent contacts with Land and Estate Agents and Accountants and other professionals, locally and further afield.

Chris Nichols
Consultant
Chris joined McPhersons in 2018 and is the consummate professional whose knowledge and experience in commercial and residential property law is legendary. He has practised in London, Chichester, Salisury and Winchester, and has an impressive following of repeat clients. He deals with the most complex options, developments and overage agreements, but is also a reassuring presence for the less experienced client.

Michele White
Consultant
Michele has 20+ years of experience of conveying property of all sorts in Hampshire Wiltshire and beyond. She has forged excellent relationships with Estate Agents and other fellow professionals who confidently refer clients to her, knowing that she will always be friendly, efficient and proactive.
Michele is always happy to take on a challenge with complex or problematic transactions, but she is equally pleased to deal with nice straightforward sales and purchases, where her aim is to get clients where they want to be, within their desired time-scale and with a calm and measured approach.

Michael Barrett
Consultant
Michael has a company and commercial property background and now specialises in high net worth property acquisitions and agricultural law. Michael’s previous experience in a wide area of disciplines makes him well suited to dealing with complex and multi levelled acquisitions and sales.
Michael’s expertise covers the sale and purchase of residential flats and houses, property development work, investment sales and acquisitions, asset sale and purchase of small businesses, agriculture and rural property, sale and purchase of farms, estates and rural property, agricultural tenancies and sporting rights.
As well as being a keen rugby player and cockapoo owner Michael has an extensively researched interest in cryptocurrency and its legal implications.

Christopher Causer
Consultant
When McPhersons became an LLP in October 2021 Christopher joined Gillian as a founder member. Christopher started his career as a barrister, before turning to banking, and then becoming a projects lawyer and one of the first practitioners in the field of the Private Finance Initiative. He provided the legal input for projects all over the world, from building the new Synchrotron near Oxford to upgrading the public transport system in Bhutan. Christopher now provides consultancy advice on projects, and has delivered lectures and workshops on the PFI in South Africa, the Caribbean and elsewhere.
Christopher is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers and a keen sailor and fell walker.
Isabel Deverill
Consultant
Isabel is a highly experienced solicitor specialising in advising individuals, families, farmers and business owners on succession planning in lifetime and on death. This includes advice on trusts and the protection of assets, Inheritance tax planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney and the administration of deceaseds’ estates.
Isabel qualified in London and has worked in Hampshire and Wiltshire for the last 25 years, building up long standing relationships with clients.
She is a member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), a Notary Public, and acts as Trustee and Executor for many clients.

Catherine Duthie
Consultant
Catherine is a Chartered Legal Executive with over 15 years’ experience in residential conveyancing. She works remotely from Bishopstoke, with the support of the team in Stockbridge, and specialises in residential conveyancing, not only locally but extensively in London. Catherine works with first time buyers making their first step on to the property ladder, and with experienced home buyers and sellers, and buy to let professionals.
Outside conveyancing, Catherine is a professionally trained Voiceover Artist and has voiced TV & radio commercials as well as internal corporate and e-Learning projects. Catherine also enjoys spending time with her energetic young family.

Monique Crouch
Monique is registered as a Legal Graduate with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, she is a Chartered Governance Graduate and holds a Master’s degree in law, specialising in corporate governance. Monique assists Michael as an executive paralegal supporting his corporate and conveyancing matters. She has experience working in both a law firm and an environmental engineering firm and is adept at theoretical and practical problem solving. At the time of writing she is working towards taking the Solicitors Qualifying Exams alongside her duties at McPhersons.
Away from the office Monique lives on a working farm on the Isle of Wight and is very passionate about the environment and country life.
As well as being the mother of two young children, Monique enjoys spending her free time clay pigeon shooting, riding and playing rugby.
